The material of the large diameter cast stainless steel globe valve body is A182-F321, and the machining of the valve body is crucial in the valve manufacturing process.
The nominal diameter of the cast austenitic stainless steel globe valve body is 250mm, and the pressure rating is Class1500. The blank of the parts is a solid rectangular shape, with a blank standard of 1030mm × 470mm × 940mm, with a rough mass of 3580kg, and the valve body is welded at both ends. The middle cavity of the cast valve body needs to be drilled with a diameter of 285mm × 546mm deep and φ 240mm × The hole with a depth of 870mm makes machining the middle cavity and two end channel holes of the valve body a difficult process.
A182-F321 austenitic stainless steel has high strength, tangential stress, and plastic deformation during cutting, resulting in high cutting force. Due to the poor thermal conductivity of the material, the cutting temperature is high, and the high temperature often converges in the slender area near the tool edge, accelerating tool wear.
